Special Instructions
for International Students
- All students who come to the U.S. for the first time should, after
registering, get their I.D. card at the Department of Motor Vehicles
(DMV). Students should carry their passports with them to the DMV.

Students should carry their passports whenever they move out of town or they
could be fined, or jailed, or both.

Students should apply for a Social Security number.

Students are advised to open a checking account at one of the local banks at
their earliest convenience. It is not advisable to carry large sums
of cash.

Students are requested to meet with the international student advisor for further
instructions.
