Tuition

Every academic year, Out-of-State waivers are available to residents who are enrolled at Western New Mexico University. With this waiver, residents may enroll at a significantly reduced rate:

 

  • Non-resident ANNUAL undergraduate tuition & fees: $12,762.72
  • ANNUAL Undergraduate tuition & fees with waiver: $4,723.20
  • ANNUAL Undergraduate savings: $8,039.52
  • Non-resident ANNUAL graduate tuition & fees: $9,655 (9 credit hours)
  • ANNUAL Graduate tuition & fees with waiver: $3,740.76 (9 credit hours)
  • ANNUAL Graduate savings: $6,011.28

 


Western New Mexico University is a participant in the Western Undergraduate Exchange program (WUE). Residents of may enroll at WNMU at a tuition rate significantly lower than that charged to non-resident students:

 

  • Non-resident ANNUAL undergraduate tuition & fees: $12,762.72
  • ANNUAL WUE undergraduate tuition & fees: $6,403.44
  • Savings: : $6,359.28

 

WUE is the Western Undergraduate Exchange, a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE). Through WUE, students in western states may enroll in many two-year and four-year college programs at a reduced tuition level: 150 percent of the institution's regular resident tuition.

Competitive Scholarship Application

Western New Mexico University offers a Competitive Scholarship which allows qualifying undergraduate students to attend at In-State rates regardless of where they live. The scholarship represents a value of $8,039.52 annually and can be renewed each year, provided standards for the scholarship are maintained..

To qualify, you must have one of the following:

• A high school GPA of 3.0 with a 23 composite ACT score or a 1070 SAT score (Critical Reading and Math),
Or
• A high school GPA of 3.5 with a 20 composite ACT score or a 950 SAT score (Critical Reading and Math),
Or
• A college transfer GPA of 3.5
And
• $200 deposit

Students who meet the above requirements will receive in-state tuition on a first-come, first-serve basis. The scholarship may be renewed for up to four (4) years.

Students who meet the Competitive Scholarship requirements and receive the award, must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 for each academic year of said scholarship award.

A $200 deposit is required at the time of application. The $200 deposit will be applied to your resident tuition for that academic year ($100 for Fall Semester, $100 for Spring Semester)

 


To qualify, you must:

  • Reside within the El Paso city limits, or in Anthony, Canutillo or Borderland, Texas
  • Attend school in the El Paso, Ysleta or Canutillo school districts
  • Reside in El Paso County north of the city limits to the New Mexico state line, or west of the city limits to the New Mexico state line.

WNMU tuition & fees based on 2012 - 2013 academic year. Rates are subject to change.
