The Law Enforcement Training Program is a five month certificate program which meets legislative requirements for police officer training in the State of New Mexico.
The training program is sanctioned by the Department of Public Safety. Students must complete the following courses to fulfill the requirements of the program:
Entry Requirements
- Psychological Exam;
- Background Check;
- Medical examination;
- Physical Assessment;
- COMPASS reading and writing scores of 40 or higher in each area (or completion of appropriate remedial work with a grade of C or better) or achievement of an ACT sub-score of 21 or better (or SAT equivalent of 500) in math, English and social science. The ACT/SAT must have been taken in the past five years;
- Valid drivers license;
- U.S. citizen;
- A minimum of a 2.0 grade point average is required for completion.
