KINESIOLOGY PROGRAM

KINESIOLOGY is housed in the Brancheau Health and Physical Education Building and offers courses in both the general education program and movement sciences and wellness career education.
In addition, the Department manages the Brancheau Complex, Wellness Center, and the Education / Recreation Program.

The objectives of the activity/service program are to develop physical well being, leisure-time skills needed for contemporary living, and desirable attitudes toward physical activity. The professional teacher-training program courses are designed to provide academic preparation and the specific skills needed for teaching and coaching as well as an appreciation of the place of physical activity in American society, and to provide the foundation for graduate study.

Brancheau Complex contains three classrooms, an exercise sciences laboratory, four racquetball courts, a dance studio, a weight room, a swimming pool, the Wellness Center and the Intramural Gymnasium. The Intramural Gymnasium contains ten badminton courts, two basketball courts, and three volleyball courts. Four tennis courts are nearby on campus.

The Wellness Center contains a variety of fitness equipment including the 24 station Universal Super Circuit. The Center is used for departmental classes and a variety of wellness-oriented workshops.
