WELCOME
Mission of the Occupational Therapy Program consistent with the missions of Western New Mexico University, and the School of Allied Health, the Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) Program prepares students to meet the challenges of providing entry-level occupational therapy services in established and emerging areas of practice. Emphasis is placed on cultural diversity, rural and regional healthcare, an appreciation for life-long learning, and effective implementation of evidence based practice. | ||

The entry-level occupational therapy master’s degree program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), located at 4720 Montgomery Lane, P.O. Certification
Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the national certification examination administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (www.nbcot.org). After successful completion of this exam, they receive the title of Occupational Therapist, Registered (OTR).
