Occupational Therapy

Imagine your future

The Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
prepares the student for employment as an occupational therapy assistant. Occupational therapy assistants work with people of all ages who, because of physical, cognitive, developmental, social, or emotional problems, need specialized assistance in order to lead an independent, productive, and satisfying life.

Why choose Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA)?
Creative people who enjoy working in the medical profession are often drawn to OTA; many of our students have backgrounds in psychology or the arts. If you’re flexible and enjoy helping others, a 2-year Associate degree in occupational therapy may be just the career you’re seeking.

Imagine yourself:

Making a difference by improving the people’s lives

Working in a variety of settings including hospitals, nursing homes, schools, rehabilitation facilities, community centers, home health agencies, psychiatric facilities, private practice, outpatient clinics and patients' homes

Working with a variety of people, young and old, who may have difficulty doing everyday tasks or being as active and as independent as they’d like.

Practicing your profession as a member of a health-care team

Using your talents of creativity, communications and problem solving to help people achieve their goals

Using your interest in health, science and the arts to benefit yourself, your family, and your community
