WNMU Home Drafting and Design Technology
  This program will prepare students for careers in Drafting and Design. Drafting and Design with the use of AutoCAD is a fast growing field and Western New Mexico is a great place to start. You can receive a Certificate with 34 credit hours or an Associate Degree with 70 credit hours
 

Drafting and Design Technicians illustrate designer's ideas in graphic form. They convert ideas for engineering or architectural designs into detailed drawings and precise working specification from which products can be made.

A Draftsman will assist architects and engineers in designing and drawing up plans for machines, electrical circuits, building or residential structures and manufactured devices. They prepare layouts, detailed drawings, charts, graphs, diagrams and models either on paper or on computers. Instruction will include areas from Introduction to AutoCAD to 3D animation.

Students will be trained using all modern equipment and latest software needed to work in today's world. Students will also receive instruction in other areas such as math, computer business and a job search seminar that will help the students learn the skills needed to find employment using their education.
