Ann Marie Elder, Associate Professor of Performance in the Interdisciplinary Expressive Arts Program in the Expressive Arts Department at Western New Mexico University.
A performance practitioner; director, sound designer and production manager, she focuses her time teaching in the IDEA program that combines performance, sound and new media. Most recently she directed an original work written and performed by students in the program called Singularity. She also teaches storytelling, theater appreciation, and theater production classes.
Ann Marie serves a director for the non-profit theater group she helped found called Theater Group New Mexico (www.theatregroupnm.org).
She has directed many plays and musicals during her last 10 years in New Mexico including: Evita, Fiddler on the Roof, Annie, and Little Shop of Horrors.
Ann Marie holds an MFA from Ohio University in Athens OH.
