                             Breast is Best

Jacylnn Q Flores

Breast come in many shapes and sizes, and are called by many names like jugs or melons.  I feel our society absolutely obsesses over breasts, and I agree with this obsession.  I think they are the most beautiful part of a woman’s body.  Breasts are wonderful to look at and serve a wonderful purpose.  Above all, I feel breastfeeding my infant is very healthy for her and a great way for us to bond.

Breast milk is naturally nutritious.  If I eat balanced meals and snack on fruits and vegetables, I can make my baby’s meals even more nutritious.  I think it is amazing that by nursing my baby I can supply her with healthy without it having that flat, bland health food taste.  I also take a multi-vitamin every day to help my immune system stay in superb condition, because I share my immunities with her as well.  The healthier she is the happier I am, because it’s really unpleasant to stay at home with an ill, cranky, crying baby.

What I really love about nursing my baby is the special time we spend together.  I sit holding her tiny body in my arms and look at her fuzzy black hair, deep brown eyes, and cute button nose.  Sometimes it feels like she is hugging me and saying “I love you, because you’re the very best mommy in this whole wide world,” with her big bright eyes.  Other times she will fall asleep eating, but that only makes me feel that she is content.

Breastfeeding my baby is a great way to guide her into good eating habits and as she grows we will have an undefined closeness that bloomed during the first months of her life.  Having breasts might help a waitress receive bigger tips or an actress land better opportunities, but nothing comes close to the feeling of nursing a baby.
