A California Vacation
My best vacation ever happened this past summer. I went to California to visit
my sister and some relatives. My family and I went to Sea World, Disneyland,
and a couple of Padre games. But my most favorite thing of all was when I
learned how to surf. A lot of people have told me that learning how to surf
is hard, but for me it was easy. I stood up my very first try. I was so excited!
The first thought that came to my mind was, “Yeah, I got it.” I
was “pumped.” There was a couple of times when I wiped out and
lost my balance but that just comes with experience. I really had a great
time once I got the hang of it. I stayed out in the ocean all day practicing
just so I can be good at something that I probably won’t do again.
What I loved most about surfing was being in the ocean. I love how the water
is nice and cool when you get in but once you start swimming and catching
the waves it gets warmer. I enjoyed when the dolphins swam by while I was
waiting for a wave. It was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. I never
thought I would be close to seeing a dolphin while surfing. I went surfing
three days in a row and every day I stepped foot in the ocean just made me
want to stay in California even longer so I could surf. I like the smell
of the ocean and the little breeze that you feel when walking on the shore.
If I could, I would go live there and experience that vacation over and over
again because it was one of the best times of my life.
