My Daughter
La
Rea is eight years old and in the third grade. We recently had parent teacher
conferences, and it did not go well. I was not surprised because La Rea was not
bringing any papers home. When she did, she could not explain her work or what
to do. The teacher and I met, and she explained to me that La Rea was not
getting work done in class. There are four assignments due in class daily, and
she was not doing them, so we decided to put her on a daily sticker plan. For
the first two weeks, she would need to get two assignments done in class daily.
At the end of two weeks, she would need to move up until she was getting all
four assignments done. I took her bike away for two weeks, so she would focus
on getting her work done. At the end of her two weeks of getting her work done,
she would get a treat. We are on our fifth week, and La Rea has done so well
she is now getting all her assignments done. I rewarded her by taking her out
to Dairy Queen, and she got her bike back. I am very proud of her, for gtting
her work done and exceeding her goal.
