(Dwarf Indian Mallow)

Family: Malvaceae

Abutilon parvulum is a decumbent to erect perennial herb that is woody at the base. The stems, leaves and fruits are densely stellate pubescent. The leaves are cordate at the base and acute at the apex. They are coarsely dentate. The schizocarp is 7-9mm in diameter, considerably smaller and thicker walled than the 12mm diameter membranous fruits of Herissantia which Abutilon parvulum resembles. The sepals under the schizocarp reflex at maturity. The mericarps contain several seeds each. Abutilon parvulum is found on rocky shelves above drainages and canyons.
