Boerhaavia torreyana is an annual herb with a racemose inflorescence. The floral bracts are less than half as long as the fruit which is five angled. The furrows of the fruit are transversely wrinkled. The leaves are petiolate and entire. The perianth is white or very light pink. Boerhaavia torreyana is found at low elevation in sandy dry plains.
