Elymus trachycaulis (Link) Gould ex Shinners
By var., see Allred
Elymus trachycaulis presents as a spike with a single spikelet at each node. The inflorescence is elongate and the glumes are acute. It is a tuftgrass and awns are short or absent. In our area, this species seems to be a mid- to upper-elevation grass.
