Erigeron flagellaris, like Erigeron tracyi, is a prostrate and quite inconspicous herb that can form extensive mats with occasional flowerheads rising a few inches above the mat. It also is found in middle elevations in open areas in the forest. The stems of E. flagellaris have appressed pubescence however and do have small plantlets at the ends of the stolons, unlike E. tracyi.
