Urochloa arizonica (Scribner & Merrill) Morrone & Zuloaga
(Arizona Signalgrass)

Family: Poaceae

Status: Native

Synonyms:
Bracharia arizonica (Scribner & Merrill) S.T. Blake
Panicum arizonicum Scribner & Merrill

Urochloa arizonica is similar to Urochloa fusca in that there is one fertile floret and one sterile floret per spikelet. There can be faint cross striations on the second glume. The major difference in the field is that Urochloa arizonica is definitely pubescent, while Urochloa fusca is glabrous. Both species are found in dry flatlands at lower elevation.
