Cevallia sinuata is a nasty herb to encounter unless the observer understands that the
stems and foliage sting. The leaves are pinnatifid and armed. Since the flowers are
nocturnal, it is more common to see them in bud than open. Cevallia sinuata is found at low
elevation on dry, rocky slopes.
