Claytonia lanceolata is a small white to pink five-petaled herb. Its leaves are linear and not conspicuous. It has two sepals. It does not give the appearance of a typical member of the Portulacaceae, but the two sepals give it away. It is found on north facing mountain slopes growing among small rocks in middle elevations.
