Polygonum lapathifolium Linnaeus

Persicaria lapathifolia has swollen nodes with obvious ocrea (united leaf stipules.) The stems are red. The leaves are lanceolate and acute. The inflorescence is usually terminal and nodding. Persicaria lapathifolia is found in moist areas next to seeps and streams.
