Scrophulariaceae
(Snapdragon Family, Figwort Family)

The Scrophulariaceae are a diverse group of plants with irregular flowers. The petals are united into a tube. Molecular geneticists have found that many of the genera assigned to this family belong elsewhere. It is likely that many of these genera will be reassigned to the Orobanchaceae, Plantaginaceae or elsewhere, leaving the Scrophulariaceae a much smaller family in the future than it is now.
