Solanum heterodoxum is a very prickly prostrate herb with irregularly divided sinuate pinnatifid or bipinnatifid leaves. The flowers are purple in contrast to the bright yellow flowers of the otherwise similar Solanum rostratum. Both are found in dry sandy areas.
