RN to BSN PROGRAM |

The RN to BSN program at Western New Mexico University started during Fall semester, 2005. The program is designed for the working nurse and is fully accredited by CCNE. Applicants to the BSN program must have a current RN license. All RN-BSN nursing courses are online as are many of the general education classes. It is possible to complete the BSN program in two years . The curriculum is designed to address contemporary issues in nursing. Students are encouraged to explore increasingly complex roles in nursing in and out of the hospital, in order to enhance critical thinking skills. There is a practicum component which requires 135 hours in Community Health Nursing, which can be accomplished in the community where you live. Simply click the link on the left to complete the RN to BSN Program Application and the WNMU Admission Application. When completing your Admission application, please be sure to indicate the semester you intend to enroll in courses. Official transcripts will need to be sent to the Admission Office to complete the admission process. Students can print the transcript request form to order their transcripts. Courses are offered on a rotation schedule and students can enroll at any time. The Course Rotation Schedule indicates which course(s) are offered during each semester. Students have the opportunity for direct input in the governance of WNMU through committees of the Faculty Senate, the University and the Student Government (ASWNMU). Active license as a Registered Nurse 3.
