In recognition of four decades as an enthusiastic and outstanding teacher who went beyond the call of duty to assist her students in achieving academic excellence in a changing world, and for her wisdom which touched the lives of many and which had a great impact on her students, Elsie Sprunk Howell is named to the Western New Mexico University Education Hall of Fame.
