The Martinez-Fall Building houses the Dean of Education, main campus faculty and staff, the Teaching and Learning Center, the Bootheel Lab, the SW Center of New Mexico for Service Learning, and New Mexico Institute for Learning and Evaluation. Main campus faculty serve programs offered at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center in Deming, NM and the Gardner Learning Center in T or C, NM. Felix Martinez and Albert Fall were the two territorial legislators in the 1893 legislative session who sponsored the act titled, "An Act to Establish and Provide for the Maintenance and Government of the Normal Schools of New Mexico". Silver City and Las Vegas were chosen to be the locations of these teacher-training institutions. |
