The Center provides a variety of materials for loan free to regional teachers. Housed in the WNMU School of Education, the Center was designed by Dr. Ruth Galaz and developed by students in Secondary Education Program classes with assistance from the New Mexico Collaborative for Excellence in Teacher Preparation, the New Mexico Center for Service Learning Opportunities in Education, and the U.S.D.A. Forest Service, Gila Regional Office.

Materials fall into three major categories (click on the following links to see more information about each, including samples of trunk contents):

Forest Service (Cohen's Gila Wilderness Trunk), and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (Wildlife Education Trunks).
