Portfolio developed based on all Elementary Education competencies and will follow INTASC format (artifact & rationale). Professional Education Committee will evaluate Exit Portfolio following established rubrics.

*** NMTA Teacher Competency and Content Knowledge must be passed before credit in EDUC 592 will be granted.

NOTE:

  1. All graduate admissions requirements must be met: A) before Practice Teaching and B) for any element of this program to be applied to appropriate MAT program.
  2. For New Mexico licensure, candidates must meet teaching field requirements: 24 – 36 hours. Teaching field requirements must be determined by the NM State Department of Education.
  3. Candidate must have completed 13 hours prior to Practice Teaching.
  4. Candidate may take 3 hours each semester for full-year Practice Teaching.
  5. Candidate must have a 3.0 GPA to Practice Teach.
  6. Once starting Alternative Licensure, candidate may not switch to MAT program.
  7. WNMU – Alternative Licensure may be applied to an appropriate MAT program if all admissions criteria are met.
