|
The Center provides a variety of materials for loan free to regional teachers. Housed in the WNMU School of Education, the Center was designed by Dr. Ruth Galaz and developed by students in Secondary Education Program classes with assistance from the New Mexico Collaborative for Excellence in Teacher Preparation, the New Mexico Center for Service Learning Opportunities in Education, and the U.S.D.A. Forest Service, Gila Regional Office. Materials
fall into three major categories (click on the following links to
see more information about each, including samples of trunk contents):
Additionally, the Center can assist teachers in obtaining trunks sponsored by other organizations, such as the Museum of New Mexico (Treasure Trunks); the Grant County Archeological Society (Educational Outreach Trunk); the Gila Regional Office of the U.S.D.A. Forest Service (Cohen's Gila Wilderness Trunk), and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (Wildlife Education Trunks). |
