The Department of Social Sciences participates in programs leading to the master's degree. The University offers thesis and non-thesis options. Most programs require 36-39 credit hours. In the Interdisciplinary MA degree program, students create an individual program of study integrating two or three major disciplinary areas. In recent years, as an example, students have chosen to create History-English, History-Sociology and History-Geography programs of study. The Department of Social Sciences also cooperates with the School of Education, offering courses in support of masters degrees in counseling and educational leadership as well as Master of Arts in Teaching degrees. For more information concerning master's programs offered in conjunction with the Department of Social Sciences, contact the department at 505.538.6635 or Dr. Michelle Behr (behrm@cs.wnmu.edu). |
