Members Present: Mason Door, Orpha Gonzalez, Peggy Lankford, Michelle Murati, Maria Rolfe, Greg Rolfe, Kathy Ryan, Henry Sanchez, Adele Springer, Raul Yanez, April Matthews

 

 

Members Absent: Diane Portillo, Patsy Madrid and Troy Hudson

 

 

President opened the meeting at 1:00 p.m. She stated that this was a special meeting called by the maintenance department to request the formation of an ad-hoc committee to investigate and address maintenance issues.

 

 

President Lankford asked that a spokesperson be appointed for the group and that the request be formally made. Susie Munoz handed President Lankford a written request and it was read aloud. President Lankford also read from the Staff Senate constitution the requirements for the formation of an ad-hoc committee and stated that the committee could be formed, but will need to have Staff Senate members, as well as others staff members. President asked Susie for the goal of the committee. Susie answered that the goal is to investigate and address problems maintenance is having and any other problems that may arise. Senator Sanchez said that this will be a voice representing maintenance. President Lankford gave conditions that the committee would have to meet; all unethical practices would have to cease immediately and any information is to be channeled through a sole spokesperson. Clarification of unethical behavior was discussed. Susie Munoz asked if there would be a choice in selecting the members for the committee. President Lankford said that she has already selected the members and she would be willing to discuss any problems with those choices. President Lankford announced the members as Greg Rolfe as chair, Henry Sanchez, Mason Door, Susie Munoz, Terry Holguin, Virginia Manzano, Jason Collet and as alternates she listed Jody Alderman, Andrea Sepulveda and Rick O'Ryan. Susie Munoz asked if Maria Rolfe could chair the committee instead of Greg. President Lankford agreed.

 

 

President Lankford adjourned the meeting at 1:43 p.m.
