The table below displays estimated cost of administration in academic departments by type of expenditure. This information was requested at the meeting of October 9, 2000. Please review and bring to the meeting scheduled for Monday, November 13.
The data show that the (estimated) annual average cost of administration by department is about $34,100 if graduate assistants are counted, and about $27,000 if graduate assistants are not counted. This figure represents the approximate savings from eliminating administrative costs in an "average" department.
