SILVER CITY—The class “SOC/PSY 401 Comparative Multicultural Social Studies” is being offered Jan. 8 - 19, 2005 at Western New Mexico University.

This class offers hands-on experience with Mexican, Mexican-American, American Indian and rural Anglo cultures. The academic perspective involves social psychology, clinical, counseling and educational experiences frameworks. The class involves an intense 10-day long exploration of the different cultures and interaction with college students from other areas of the U.S. 

Fieldtrips include visits to Gallup, N.M. and Palomas, Mexico.

The class will be taught jointly by Scott Meyer, Ph.D., from Plymouth State University in New Hampshire and WNMU School of Education Director of Field Experience Trinidad U. Tolar.
