SILVER CITY A hydrogeology course taught by Associate Professor of Geology Mary E. Dowse will be offered for the spring semester at Western New Mexico University.
"Hydrogeology is a study of groundwater. The course will include an overview of the factors that control groundwater flow to wells and the impacts of pumping," said Dowse.
Dowse adds the course will include a discussion of groundwater contamination and its movement in the subsurface. Algebra is a prerequisite for this course.
The class will be taught on Tuesday and Thursday morning from 8 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. with a lab on Tuesday from 1p.m. to 2:50 p.m.

Spring 2005 semester classes begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 10. Senior citizens who are at least 65 years of age and a New Mexico resident may enroll in classes for audit or for a grade at $5 per credit hour. The registration and technology fees have been waived for senior citizens enrolling in classes for the Spring 2005 semester. For more information, contact the Admissions Office at 538-6106.
The offices of Western New Mexico University will be closed Dec. 22 - Jan. 4. Regular office hours for the University will resume on Wednesday, Jan. 5.
