SILVER CITY--The Western New Mexico University Extended University Office is
offering summer swim lessons. There will be four two-week sessions on June 6-17,
June 20-July 1, July 5-15 and July 18-29. Two sessions of Infant/Preschool swim
lessons will be offered from June 6-July 1 and July 5-29.
Infant/Preschool swim lessons will be from ages 6 months to 3 years. There will
be no more than 5 students per instructor for Levels I through III, this is
due to safety issues with the American Red Cross, said an Extended University
spokeswoman.
Registration for individuals without current American Red Cross cards will be
May 26 and June 2 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the P.E. Complex swimming pool. These
students will need to bring their swimsuits as they will be tested in the water
to determine their skill level. Those students who have their Red Cross card
may register at any time at the Extended University Office located in Bowden
Hall Room 234 or call 538-6149.
The cost for swim lessons will be $35 per student. There will not be any spots
held. Enrollment is on a first come, first serve basis. Payment is required
at the time of registration.
