         SILVER CITY--The Western New Mexico University Extended University office will again be offering a Scuba Diving class.  Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays beginning Sept. 7 through Sept. 25.  An open dive at Balmorhea State Park will be held on Sept. 23 through Sept. 25. 

         Students will meet in Light Hall Room 110 from 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. and then from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the P.E. Complex swimming pool.  Cost for the class is $279, which includes:  Crew Pak with manual, logbook, RDP table, file folder and certification card.  Students will also be provided with weight integrated buoyancy compensator, weights, regulator system, tanks, and wet suit throughout the entire course.  It is required that the student provide their own mask, snorkel, fins and wet suit boots.  Students will receive a 15% discount on these items from Dive Quest Scuba store, if students do not have them.  A $10 mouthpiece kit is also required.

         The certification weekend in Balmorhea Texas State Park is at the cost of the student.  Instructor will have a map and phones numbers available to the students.  Students may register at the Extended University office in Bowden Hall Room 234 or call 538-6149 for further information.
