SILVER CITY--The
Western New Mexico University Extended University will be offering three 6-week non-credit art classes, Judith
Meyer will be the instructor.
Nature Drawing will
begin Sept. 5 through Oct. 10 on Mondays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Students will concentrate on plants, flowers
and other elements of the botanical world.
The class will begin working in black and white (pencil and ink) and
then use white and black prisma color pencil on dark
paper. Students will need to bring drawing paper, a pencil and sharpener and
eraser. No previous drawing experience
needed.
Designing In Black and White is scheduled from Sept. 6 to Oct. 11 on
Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Students
need no drawing experience, yet you'll create exquisite drawings in ink as well
as Escher-like, 16-part grid pattern.
Learn how to find several compositions within a simple pencil drawing,
balance a composition, use repetition of a single composition can create unexpected
but beautiful complex designs. A
materials list will be supplied by instructor.
Drawing For Realism will be held from Sept. 8 through Oct. 13 on
Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Students
will learn how to draw any isolated object realistically in pen and graphite
pencil by controlling the pressure and techniques of the pencil and ink,
knowing what the different pencils can achieve, strengthening the ability to
see and observe what you are drawing, and how to plan and develop a drawing
from general to specific shapes. A
materials list will be supplied by instructor.
