SILVER CITY--The Western New Mexico University “W” got a fresh coat of paint yesterday (Sunday, Aug. 28) as some 200 students, faculty and staff climbed “W” Mountain located on the north side of town for the annual event. The “W” was painted in what may be a record time of one hour and 15 minutes. According to the event sponsor, the Multicultural Affairs and Student Activities Office, some 175 gallons of paint was used to paint the W.
