SILVER CITY--A request for convertible cars and flatbed trailers to use in the 2005 Western New Mexico University Homecoming Parade is being issued.  The parade is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8.

“We are interested in using convertibles to carry some of the dignitaries and alumni in the parade.  It is a nice opportunity for community members to show off some of the great looking cars in town,” said WNMU Alumni Director Christy Miller.  “We would like to see the streets of Silver City filled to see the parade.  Please help make this one of the best parades Western has ever had.”

Entry forms are available at the Alumni Office and Multicultural Affairs/Student Activities Office for groups interested in participating in the parade.

The parade route will begin at the WNMU campus and continue through historic downtown Silver City.

For more information, contact Patsy Madrid at 590-7134, Christy Miller at 538-6675, or Maria Dominguez at 538-6611.
