SILVER CITY- Western New Mexico University is celebrating the Mexicano/Chicano/ Hispanic Month in September. The events are sponsored by the Multicultural Affairs and Student Activities Office.

On Sept. 23, the workshop, “Issues Affecting Chicanos,” will be given in the Seminar Room of the Thomas B. McDonald Student Memorial Building from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

On Sept. 28, the movie, “Salt of the Earth” will be shown at 7 p.m. in the Seminar Room of the Thomas B. McDonald Student Memorial Building.

On Sept. 29, the “Best Salsa” Competition will take place. If you would like to participate, bring your sample to the MASA office no later then 10:30 a.m. Chips and Salsa will be provided outside of the MASA office from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
