Silver City—Two foreign language
classes will be offered in the spring semester through the Western New Mexico
University Extended University Office.
The “German I” class will explore the language, culture and
history of Germany and its people.
Students will read short stories and engage in conversation. Level of instruction will be adjusted to
level of student's experience.
Classes will be held from Feb. 2 through May 4, on
Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 6
p.m. in Light Hall
Room 102. The cost of the class is $90.
A $30 charge for a textbook will need to be paid to the instructor at
first class meeting.
The “Beginning French – Conversational” class will feature
grammar lessons. Individuals of varying
levels of knowledge of French are encouraged to come practice their French and
speak with other beginners. The level of student's experience will determine
the level of instruction. Classes will be held from Feb. 3 through May 5 on
Fridays from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Light Hall Room 104. Cost for the class is $90
with a $30 charge for a textbook to be paid to the instructor at the first
class meeting.
Barbara
Moller, instructor for these classes, was born in Murnau/Bavaria, Germany and was reared in Denmark. Ms. Moller learned
to speak French in Brussels, Belgium and Paris, France.
