SILVER CITY--The deadline for nominations for the 2006 Western New Mexico University School of Education Hall of Fame is nearing. Nominations will be accepted through Friday, March 17.
WNMU has a long tradition of preparing quality educators in New Mexico. The purpose of the WNMU Education Hall of Fame is to recognize and honor exemplary classroom teachers and to serve as a depository of record for the accomplishments of those selected.
To qualify for the Hall of Fame, a candidate must be a graduate of WNMU or its predecessor institutions, must have demonstrated a dominant interest in classroom teaching and devoted the major portion of his/her professional career to classroom teaching at the primary, secondary, or higher education levels.
The nomination application is available on-line at www.wnmu.edu/academic/schedu/HallofFame/halloffame.htm </academic/schedu/HallofFame/halloffame.htm> which is the Hall of Fame Page within the School of Education under Academic Departments or may be picked up at the School of Education Office at the Martinez/Fall Building.
