SILVER CITY—The Western New Mexico University Grant County Alumni Chapter is selling double orchid leis as a fundraiser for the spring commencement ceremony at WNMU scheduled on Friday, May 5, at 6 p.m. The lei symbolizes love, peace, hello and farewell.
All leis must be pre-ordered before May 3, 2006 and may be picked up at the Alumni Office the day of commencement. Remaining leis will be sold at the commencement ceremony. The cost for each double strand orchid lei is $25. The proceeds from this WNMU Grant County Alumni Chapter fundraising project goes to support homecoming and Great Race alumni activities provided free of charge by the chapter.
All leis may be paid for in person at the Alumni Office in Hunter Hall Room 101 or call Christy Miller, WNMU alumni director, at 538-6675.
