SILVER CITY—The Western New Mexico University Police Academy will hold a graduation ceremony for class number 51 on June 29 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Besse-Forward Global Resource Center Auditorium.  The keynote speaker for the ceremony will be Grant County Sheriff Raul “Bully” Holguin.

The graduates are Antonio Carrillo, Cody Cooper, Paul Dominguez, Bradley Farrington, Tony Fetty, Miguel Flores, Robert Harrington, Freddie Portillo, Patrick Rico, Tobias Rodriguez, Lars Taylor, Ruben Turrieta, Melinda White and Jason Woods.

The graduates completed some 900 hours of law enforcement training during a six-month period. The majority of the graduates have already been hired at various police departments in the area and across the state.

  The next Police Academy class will begin in January 2007.  Interested students are encouraged to begin the enrollment process now. Individuals who are required to enroll in developmental courses are advised to complete those courses in the upcoming fall semester in order to qualify for admission in the Police Academy.
