CAPTION—A diseased and dead mature pine tree was removed on July 20 from the campus of Western New Mexico University. Other diseased trees will be evaluated and removed as necessary during the next few months. During the heavy winds experienced in April a number of automobiles were seriously damaged due to falling tree limbs. Pictured is Pat Bearup of Big Bear Inc. taking care of a few final details as the tree is safely removed. The dead tree was located in front of the Juan Chacon Building.
