            SILVER CITY – Hispanic Heritage Month is being celebrated at Western New Mexico University.  Throughout September, the office of Multicultural Affairs and Student Activities is conducting activities to commemorate the celebration. Pictured above are students taking advantage of the “Make Your Own Taco” day.  The event was co-sponsored by the United Campus Ministries and its campus minister Judith Delgado (far left).  Other planned events include a screening of “Salt of the Earth” on Sept. 26 at 7 p.m., the Best Salsa Contest on Sept. 27 at 11:30 a.m., and Cuentos (storytelling) on Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m.  All events are to take place on the WNMU campus and are open to the public.  For more information, contact the MASA office at 538-6611.
