SILVER CITY--Western New Mexico University’s School of Education has been well-known for producing high quality teachers since 1893. The School of Education prides itself in successfully preparing its students; future teachers, counselors and educational leaders, for success in the education field. The School of Education is accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). In carrying on this tradition, the Dean, faculty, and staff of WNMU at the School of Education would like to acknowledge the following practice teachers for their hard work and dedication as future educators.
We have 23 practice teachers placed in New Mexico and Arizona’s schools this fall semester. In the Silver Schools we have: Amber Abbott, Graciella Edens, Nikki Grouios, Jennie Montoya, Sarah Nelson, Micheal O’Harrow, Edward Valentine, Trent Wertz, Stacie Williams, and Candice Starr Cruz. In the Cobre Schools we have: Ashley Edwards, Melissa Hernandez, Rachel Jones, Jeffery Roberson, and Dana Sanchez. In the Deming Schools we have: Christine Milo, Veronica Montano, Johnny Pacheco, Cecilia Vega and Ruben Udero. Practice teachers in other parts of the state are Kasey Rudiger in Animas and Esther L. Stuedli-Miller in Albuquerque. Nicole Williams is practice teaching in San Simon, Ariz. Our practice teachers are working with students to create opportunities for learning. We thank their Clinical Faculty, Lead Clinical Faculty, Supervising Teachers, and building Principals for their contributions in helping these practice teachers reach their goals.
