SILVER CITY—A Security+ Certification preparation class will be offered in the spring semester at Western New Mexico University beginning on Jan. 11.  The three credit hour class will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m. at the Juan Chacon Building Room 260. 

The instructor of the course is Daniel S. Gifondorwa.  The course number is CNET 275-2942. 

The one semester class will prepare students for Security+ certification.  Students will learn to protect from the theft or destruction of information or the disruption of communication resources, learn general security concepts, learn communication security, infrastructure security, basics of cryptography, and operational and organizational security.           

Spring 2006 semester classes begin at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
