Subject: The McCray Gallery Dan Davidson Exhibit: Visit of the Honors Composition and Rhetoric Class

 

Professor Mary Leen brought her Honors Composition and Rhetoric class to the Francis McCray Gallery of Contemporary Art on September 26 th to view the Dan Davidson Exhibition titled: “Returning the Hexagrams – an exhibit of I Ching Paintings.” The students toured the show and Dan Davidson gave them a personal art talk on his cycle of works.

 

The Dan Davidson exhibit closed on September 28 th. The Francis McCray Gallery and Dan Davidson would like to thank Kourosh Amini, Ellen O’Bryan and Emalee Eisenhauer for their generous help in hanging this show and gallery staff Rebecca Rands Eisenhauer, Graduate Assistant; Carlos Aguilar, Graphic Designer; and Gloria Maya, Gallery Director.

 

The community is invited to the next opening reception for the new show at the Francis McCray Gallery entitled “Art from the Heart: Arte y Artesania del Corazón Chicano / Chicana Art Mercado.” The Artist’s Opening Reception will be Friday, October 5 th from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This will correspond with the Weekend at the Galleries in Silver City. This show will run from Oct. 5 th – Nov. 2, 2007. The exhibit will close with a Día de Los Muertos Celebración on Friday, Nov. 2 nd from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. This will include a Ceremony & Potluck Dinner with featured entertainers Imelda Lopez, Mayor of Santa Clara, Jessica Juarez and Ricardo Medrano.
