SILVER CITY —The Western New Mexico University Office of Special Events/Ed Rec will be offering swim lessons beginning in October. The session is scheduled from Oct. 12 through Nov. 7. Testing and registration for the session will be on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the pool.
Swim lessons are offered for Level Infant/Preschool, Level 2, and Level 3. Classes for each session will be every Wednesday and Friday for four weeks. The cost for the lessons is $40 and p ayment is required at the time of registration.
Each child will be tested in the water on registration day so parents need to make sure to bring a swimsuit and towel for the child at the Brancheau P.E. Complex Swimming Pool. The only exception is if the child took swim lessons with the department this past summer 2007. Parents are welcome to swim with their child/children for that hour, after testing.
