Western New Mexico University Museum’s renovations continue with the refinishing of wood floors and stairs beginning January 14, 2008 and continuing through January 31, 2008.

The WNMU Museum is open to the public during the refinishing project, especially the main floor prehistoric Mimbres pottery and artifact permanent exhibits.  However, there will be periods when visitors and staff alike will be unable to use the restroom facilities located on the 2nd floor due to the application of sealant. Museum staff will direct visitors to the nearest restroom facilities located in Miller Library.

During the wood floor refinishing process considerable noise, dust, and odors will be generated.  It is suggested that individuals who are sensitive to environmental odors and dust refrain from visiting the WNMU Museum from January 14 through January 31, 2008.

It is anticipated that WNMU Museum will be closed to the public the weekend of January 19 and 20 to accommodate the application and the drying of sealant final coats on the 2nd floor hallway wood floors.  The WNMU Museum will be closed to the public, Monday, January 21, 2008 to observe the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.
