            The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, which provides free income tax preparation service, is being offered by Western New Mexico University beginning February 4, 2008 through April 11, 2008.

            The schedule is Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., Tuesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to noon. There will be a Spanish speaker on-site Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The services will be closed March 6^th and 7^th and March 21^st through 28^th. It is offered in the Phelps Dodge building in Rooms 137 and 139. The PD building is located on 12^th Street.

            Participants are required to bring their W-2 forms, a photo I.D., social security cards for all taxpayers and dependants, and any other supporting documentation. Free e-filing is available.

            Taxes are prepared on a first come, first serve basis. For more information on the free tax service, please call the WNMU Business Administration Department at 538-6321.
